Custom Furniture & Joinery

Custom furniture and joinery

We do not rely on catalogue furniture to solve rooms with specific proportions or needs. Each piece of fixed joinery and loose furniture in our projects is designed by the studio and crafted to suit the scale and mood of the space.

The difference begins in the drawing.

A wardrobe is not only storage; it becomes part of the room. A bed is not only a place to sleep; its proportions shape how the bedroom feels. Off-the-shelf pieces often ask the room to adjust to them.

We draw our furniture from scratch. We detail the internal divisions of a wardrobe around daily use, and think through the comfort, finish, and grain direction that give a piece its character.

These pieces are then built by a network of carpenters and polishers we have worked with for two decades — makers who understand both the drawing and the finish.

What we make

We produce both fixed site joinery (wardrobes, kitchens, paneling) and loose furniture pieces that require a higher level of craft and detailing.

FAQ

Common questions

What kinds of custom furniture do you make in Mumbai? +

We design and produce both fixed site joinery and loose furniture pieces — wardrobes and walk-in closets, beds and headboards, dining tables and upholstered seating, media units and consoles, kitchen cabinetry, and bathroom vanities. Every piece is drawn from scratch by the studio and crafted by our network of Mumbai makers.

Why choose custom furniture over catalogue pieces? +

Catalogue furniture is designed to fit the widest range of rooms — which means it rarely fits your room exactly. Custom furniture is drawn for your specific space, your storage needs, and the proportions of the room it lives in. A wardrobe designed for your bedroom will make better use of every centimetre than any off-the-shelf alternative.

How long does it take to produce a custom piece? +

Lead time depends on the complexity and finish of the piece. Most custom joinery items take between six and twelve weeks from finalised drawings to delivery and installation. We build the production timeline into the overall project schedule so pieces arrive when the site is ready for them.

Do you design custom furniture for standalone commissions, or only for full projects? +

Primarily for homes where we are leading the design, since individual pieces work best when they are considered in the context of the whole room. If you have a specific brief for a standalone piece, get in touch and we will let you know whether it is something we can take on.
