Residential Interiors
Residential interior design
We design apartments, penthouses, and bungalows across Mumbai. Our work is not about applying a signature look to your home; it is about rigorous space planning, honest materials, and a layout that actually works for the people living in it.
Principal-led, from the first sketch.
Porcelain Sheer takes on a limited number of residential projects each year so Natasha Gupta can stay closely involved in each one from the first conversations onward.
We start with the architecture of the space — improving light, correcting awkward layouts, and ensuring the circulation makes sense. Once the bones are right, we layer in materials, custom joinery, and lighting.
The result is a home that feels quiet, grounded, and unmistakably yours. It doesn’t scream for attention; it simply feels right when you walk through the door.
The process
We hold the design intent from the first space-planning meeting to the day we place the last piece of art. If a detail is drawn, it is our responsibility to see it executed correctly on site.
- 01 Space planning and layout correction
- 02 Material palette and mood direction
- 03 Detailed working drawings for site
- 04 Lighting design and selection
- 05 Furniture curation and final styling
FAQ
Common questions
What does residential interior design in Mumbai include? +
A full residential interior design engagement covers space planning and layout correction, material palette and mood direction, detailed working drawings for site, lighting design, custom furniture and joinery, and final styling and handover. The scope is agreed at the start based on your specific home and brief.
Do you work on apartments as well as larger homes? +
Yes. We work on apartments, penthouses, and bungalows across Mumbai. The size of the home does not change how we approach the work — every project gets the same level of principal involvement and design rigour regardless of square footage.
How involved is the principal designer in day-to-day work? +
Natasha Gupta leads every project personally. She is involved from the first conversation through to the site walk-through at handover. We take on a limited number of homes each year specifically to keep this level of involvement intact — design intent is never handed to a junior team.
Can you improve a layout in an existing Mumbai apartment? +
Yes. Layout correction is often where the most significant improvements happen. We evaluate how light moves through the space, where circulation is awkward, and which walls or partitions are worth reconsidering. Mumbai apartments in particular often have layouts optimised for construction speed rather than for living — rethinking them is a core part of our residential work.
