The Brief
A bare concrete shell facing the Arabian Sea in Juhu — four bedrooms, a study, a living room, and a long terrace verandah. The brief asked for a home that could hold a large extended family without ever feeling crowded, while standing up to the salt and humidity that a sea-facing site brings with it.
The Intervention
Every room was given its own character rather than a house style. The verandah was drawn to extend the living room rather than sit apart from it, so the sea view becomes part of daily life. Bedrooms were tuned to the people who use them — the children's rooms scaled honestly to their world, the master weighted as a private retreat. Materials were chosen first for how they age on a sea-facing wall, and only then for how they look.
The Palette
Italian marble and limestone flooring, walnut veneer joinery, brushed brass hardware, lime-washed walls, and marine-grade finishes throughout. Upholstery in linen and performance weaves chosen to hold colour against strong western light.
